Never buy pre-made cookies ever again

UNPOPULAR OPINION; I HATE nestle toll house pre-made chocolate chip cookie dough. I know this blog is all about cooking meals that are easy to prepare, but this is one area I will not cut corners. Too put it simply, the pre-made dough just does not taste as good as when you make them yourself. Yes, they are convenient and yes it is easier to make, which this blog is all about. But I swear to you I can 100% taste the difference between homemade and pre-made. Although I am a starving student and convenience takes priority, I just seem to compromise between homemade and pre-made. There is just something nostalgic about making chocolate chip cookies from scratch that the pre-made dough can’t compete with. For me it takes me back to making cookies with my mom and my sister. Of course my sister and I would eat a good chunk of dough even though our mom advised us not to. It is a memory I am sure most of you can relate to. Besides the emotional connection to homemade cookie dough, you can't beat the taste. My motto when it comes to desserts is that if you are going to indulge, then don't hold back. Use real butter, real sugar and do not apologize. When eating the pre-made dough you can just taste the fake margarine, artificial sugar and overly sweet chocolate chips. My point is, that if you are going to have chocolate chip cookies just spend the twenty minutes and make the damn dough from scratch.
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 cup chopped nuts
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
